Last year Apple CEO Steve Jobs had set a target of selling 10 million iPhones by 2008 ending. But it seems to be an early diwali for Apple, as reports of Apple having sold 10 million iPhone 3G’s already is going around the www.

The rumors are fueld by some 3rd party analysis which is done by keeping a track on the IMEI’s of the iPhone 3G. No matter what momentum Apple has maintained – But seeing the recent developments, I feel that the iPhone would began to slowdown soon! However the global advantage is with Apple this time.

the latest IMEI data point collected by AFB was 9,190,680—an 8GB Black iPhone recorded as manufactured on September 29 and sold on October 5. [source]
