iPhone 3G in India – Hype, Hungama but no sales!

iPhone in India is overpriced (Yes we know that); and if Business Today is to be believed the iPhone sales in India is as low as 4000 units in three months (The loans didnt help!). Though they didn’t hire any actors to que up; but the amount of outdoor advertising and hype created seems to be wasted.

At the end of the day, the operators (and probably Apple) seem to have lost money in the iPhone 3G India launch. Probably they believe it as a branding opportunity. The 1st Gen iPhone still rocks the seconds market.
