Yes! The 10000 apps on the Apple AppStore have been downloaded an unbelievable 300 million times (and thats without counting Cydia and Installer). Though I am sure we have contributed atleast a 1000 of these 😛 the point here is that – Appstore helps Apple immensely to fight the rising competition from Nokia and other cos.
Blackberry / Nokia / Samsung and HTC have fought the iPhone really hard off recent. But the software platform really helps Apple. The AppStore sure buys some time, but we really need to see some better featured iPhone soon (2009!).
Update: Intomobile calculates that Apple sees as many as 2 million appstore downloads every month!
