Apple iPhone 3G in China

Recently we reported rumors of China Unicom getting the Apple iPhone 3G officially in China after the handset was spotted on their website. And here we have the rumors that the official announcement is just days away.

While Apple failed to get official with China Mobile (who has 600 million customers); China Unicom manages to get the iPhone 3G for its 150 million subscribers just before the iPhone 3.0 becomes reality. Not sure for how long the 3G would sell but we now feel that the iPhone 3G might not be discontinued one the iPhone 3.0 is launched.

two companies will formally announce the news on May 17, the World Telecommunication Day [China Tech News]
