iPhone 3G selling without contract @ Apple Stores

Apple is finally making the big move to empty its iPhone 3G inventory before the new iPhone 3.0 hardware is introduced in June. So here it comes

  • iPhone 3G now sells @ $599 and $600 (for 8Gb and 16Gb) without a AT&T contract
  • But the phones are still locked to AT&T network. (Heard of Yellowsn0w?)
  • Limit raised. You can buy as many as iPhones as you want from Apple Stores. Activation via iTunes at the comfort of your home

Move clearly indicated to us that the old iPhone 3G’s would be discontinued well before the iPhone 3.0 makes an entry. Putting a certain end to our guess that both iPhone 3G and the new iPhone 3.0 would be on sale together.
