Browsing through media content on iPhone Safari? Want to save it? Its simple…
You need Mplayer, Safari Download Plugin and Mobile finder. Both are available via Cydia. Now go to any site that has video embedded content. Safari download plugin will allow you to download this video / audio to your iPhone file system. By default this is saved at var/mobile/library/downloads.
Now to play this content in MPlayer you need to move this downloaded file to the Mplayer path. This is done by Mobile Finder.Using Mobile Finder you will have to pick the files downloaded at var/mobile/library/downloads and press file tab that would give you the copy / move option. You are required to move the file to private/var/media for Mplayer to see them [you can ony move one file at a time].
Once you have transferred the content to Mplayer folder i.e. private/var/media you will be able to view and play them in Mplayer.
Update: One new app iFile allows you to view the downloaded file within the app itself supporting all video formats like mp4 , movie etc. So you can use iFile instead of MobileFinder. iFile is better as you dont have switch over to another app. Plus its also more stable than mPlayer and supports large files.
