How to get sms/message delivery report on iPhone

Along with features like Sms Forwarding, single sms deletion, draft etc, lack of sms delivery report has been another missing thing on the default sms app on the iPhone. Sms delivery report is a very important feature which is present in all other phones like Nokia, HTC and all other handsets.

To get delivery report on iPhone, you just have to follow this simple procedure below. Simply add a code to the beginning of your text message and once the SMS message has been delivered you will get a text message back saying:

Message for +(number) has been delivered on (date and time)

The recipient of your text message won’t see the code you have typed as this is stripped out by the network. This is confirmed working on O2 and T Mobile in the UK. However, different networks use different codes. Below is a list of the codes used by different networks in various countries.

Instead of this you can also use iRealSms app via Cydia. It directly gives you the report in your inbox without the need of typing that code at the start of the message. (However, iRealSMS is paid…)
