iPhone 3.0 to get iMovie – Record / Edit / Share Videos

in Rumors, iPhone 3.0 News

While is no secret that the nextgen iPhones would actually be able to record videos and also support MMS, Business Week reports that the iPhone would be loaded with a full iMovie app. This adds to the earlier rumors that iPhone would get video editing capabilities.

iMovie is a video editing software application which allows Mac users to edit their own home movies. It was originally released by Apple in 1999 as a Mac OS 8 application bundled with the first FireWire-enabled Macintosh model. Since version 3, iMovie has been a Mac OS X only application bundled in the iLife suite of Macintosh applications.

iMovie capabilities in the iPhone would allow users to edit and share (MMS, email, upload on youtube?) recorded movies with ease, saving the hassel of transferring the same to your PC and edit the same using 3rd party softwares. Expect some good shots from the autofocus / 3.2 or 5MP camera of the next iPhone.

iPhone OS 3.0 is expected to debut along with new iPhone(s) @ Apple WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June later this year.
