Its not just its own chips that Apple is working on, its the entire ecosystem to build an efficient gaming device! Apple already has a killer mobile OS, an amazing multi-touch technology, a platform which attracts developers and some really cool games already live on the App Store.

Its no secret that future iPhones / iPod Touch would be much more in to gaming than today, multi-core chips & premium App Store section are already rumored since long. And here are some more hints at Apple’s interest in gaming.

Apple has roped in Richard Teversham who was previously senior European director of business, insights and strategy for the Xbox. This comes within a week of Bob Drebin, CTO of AMD’s graphics group joining Apple.

Something that we previously missed while covering the Apple’s interest in graphic chips was the 3.6% stake it picked up in the UK chipmaker Imagination while licensing its PowerVR technology.
