While older models of Apple products are known to vanish from the market weeks before a refresh, this time Apple has played smart to give better competition to Android, Palm Pre and the Nokia N97. The older iPhone 3G models still stay in supply and comes at a hefty discount. A straight 50% price cut! (Catch? Till stock lasts – if you can find any).
The 8GB iPhone 3G is still on sale via ATT online store and we all heard the announcement at WWDC reporting $99 pricing for the same. However what was not mentioned publically is the availability of the 16GB iPhone 3G for $149. 16GB iPhone models are not available online and since months running extremely low in supply or completely out of stock (at least in India).
Though in scarce supply the 16GB iPhone 3G goes for $149 and the new iPhone 3GS comes with $199 and $299 pricing for 16GB and 32GB versions respectively. All these with a 2yr ATT contract in US.
