Apple surprisingly updated it’s notebook line-up at the WWDC keynote on 8th June. These will soon launch in India as well, as soon as up-to four weeks as per the press release.

The new upgrades are pretty much impressive with faster processors, much more RAM, Up-to 40% more battery life and more than all a much CHEAPER price. But wait, don’t get easily impressed. Those great price cuts are mostly for US residents (as the iPhone prices :P).As per their press release, the 13-inch uni-body Macbook “Pro” which was simply Macbook before will start at approximately the same price of Rs. 74, 400 MRP and going up-to Rs. 93,300 MRP. Now wait, they are translating $1,199 and $1,499 as these prices! This is awfully high even if you assume the exchange rate to be $1 = INR 50 (which it is not).

Other Macbook Pros have got price cuts as well in the Indian market, but these price cuts are around Rs. 5,000-6,000 MRP maximum! The only one to get a real price slash was the Macbook Air which now comes at a MUCH cheaper price of Rs. 93,300 MRP for low-end model and Rs. 1,12,000 MRP for high-end SSD model. That’s a really decent price as compared to what it was before. 😉
