OS 3 out, Apple servers under pressure, AT&T relents on upgrade pricing

Though we are happily upgraded and unlocked on the iPhone OS 3.0 with our 2G iPhone (with YouTube not working for now), only awaiting a Jailbreak from the Dev Team; millions of iPhone users around the world have just been left loose with the iPhone OS 3.0 going live. And now we are hearing something that happens naturally whenever Apple comes with a major iPhone upgrade – Traffic killing the supply capacity…

30-fail-activation

Most users after updating to OS 3.0 are (were) unable to activate their iPhones due to heavy traffic on Apple’s servers. However as traffic eases, things should be just reasonable. 3.0 is certainly an enormous boost and once iPhone 3G S reaches the anxious hands tomorrow we would see more reactions.

Good news for iPhone 3G owners looking to upgrade to 3GS, AT&T has promised best upgrade pricing for eligible iPhone 3G owners. This is expected to cover most iPhone 3G users. (Previously a upgrade from the 3G to 3G S costed $399 and $499 for 16GB and 32Gb versions respectively)
