Google announced its location-based search for for the iPhone. The location based search is available for the iPhone users running iPhone 3.0 version. Dubbed My Location search, the location-based search would allow iPhone users to filter their search confined to a selected location. With My Location it would be much easier for the iPhone users to find local joints, pizza deliveries, small businesses, etc. It would be a very handy search tool specially when you are traveling.

“At Google, we want to make searching the world around you as easy and informative as searching the web. That’s why we’re introducing Search with My Location for iPhone 3.0. Now if I want to know which jazz clubs are near me, I don’t have to specify a location – I just search for “jazz clubs”. “, says Joshua Siegel, Product Manager, Google Mobile Team through the Official Google Mobile Blog.

The location-based search is currently available in English in USA and UK only. With the speed of Google’s language support updates, the search should be available for other languages and countries soon. Also available with Safari web browser.
