Security loophole in iPhone allows hacker to take control by SMS

Security expert Charlie Miller has unearthed a big loophole in the Apple iPhone that allows a hacker to gain complete access to your cellphone by just sending a couple of sms text messages. So if, you see a text message on your iPhone with only a small square character, you better switch off the phone as there is no patch for this vulnerability yet.

This bug can allow the hacker to gain full control of your iPhone like making a phone call, opening websites or using the camera! Charlie Miller plans to reveal the loophole at a security conference tomorrow.

Miller and his fellow researcher Collin Mulliner claim that they have notified Apple about the flaw more than a month ago; however no action has been seen from Cupertino yet. Hopefully the iPhone 3.1 firmware will fix this. While we cannot be sure until the hack is actually demonstrated, beware you have been WARNED!
