The iTunes App Store rules the smartphone app market. And here are some figures released by AdMob recently that shows the download pattern and market insights for app market.
Some points noted here:
- App Store paid apps market is 40x bigger than Android currently ($200million vs $5 million)
- While iPhone and Android users spend 88 and 84 mins respectively daily using app, iPod touch users spend 2 hours a day
- 18.4% of Apps purchased by iPod touch users are paid, compared to 10.2% and 9.1% by iPhone and Android users
- iPod touch users are the maximum user of Apps. They spend more time using apps and also buy more paid apps
- Users spend average $8-10 on apps each month
The survey was conducted on 1100 users, much less to determine trend of millions of users!
