Vodafone today revealed its new platform branded as ‘360′. This is much like Nokia’s OVi that brings apps, maps and other services all together. To being with the 360 customization would be built into the Samsung H1 / M1 and some Nokia phones. However this would soon make it to supported phone by other networks and in future for the iPhone (& iPod touch perhaps) aswell.
On mobile, Vodafone 360 is a proprietary interface that marries Facebook, Windows Live Messenger, Twitter, Google Talk and more into your contacts book, Vodafone People. You can use Vodafone 360 to share photos, music and your geo-location with friends and it’s all backed up in the cloud so you won’t lose your data if your phone takes a dip in a puddle. [source]
While this thing makes it to the iPhone or now is surely left to Apple’s mercy and we believe that announcing availability on other carriers / phones is a nice publicity getter for Vodafone. Only time will tell as to how successful this would be!
