Apple has another milestone here with its iPhone. A recent report indicates that the Apple iPhone holds a strong 21% of Australia’s smartphone market in the last 12 months. However that fails to get Apple the 1st spot, with Nokia still ruling the Australian lands. Blackberry closely follows at no 3.

So after being the most popular gaming device, offering maximum web usage, video uploads and taking numerous other spots across the board, are we still waiting for competition to catch up? iPhone has pushed the envelop for all other manufacturers and made the consumers to feel the smartphone boom.

“The whole industry has benefited as a result of the iPhone in terms of the rapid pace of innovation, which has intensified of the past couple of years.”
