Apple bumping 3GS manufacturing by 20% to meet demand?

Foxconn has reportedly received increased orders for manufacturing the iPhone 3Gs in Q4 to meet the growing demand. The increase in order is said to be roughly 17% – 20%. Even OmniVision (which manufacturers sensors for the iPhone) has reportedly informed its customers that there would be supply constraints in order to meet Apple’s increased demands.

This shouldn’t really be a big scoop as it is being portraied as. Holiday season is right up ahead and the 3GS is already delayed in several countries due to stock shortage. So Apple increasing the supply for the device by 20% is natural. Hope they would get enough supply to launch the device in India soon, else Android 2.0 really looks promising to me :P . This one advantage of something like Andorid or Windows Mobile certainly is something Apple would need to factor in order to really dominate the market (which I doubt they intent to, atleast at the cost of quality and experience which they guard pretty strongly).
