Hungry Pizza eaters have ordered Pizzas worth $1 million using the cool Pizza Hut app that we saw a few months back. This is an amazing milestone and another testimonial of Apple iPhone’s web savvy property. And all this while the app is only out in the US. Globally Pizza Hut has 10000 outlets and the popularity of the iPhone / App Store is only growing by increasing momentum.
Bernard Acoca, senior director of digital marketing at Pizza Hut, Dallas, TX said,”We are extremely excited here about the explosive growth we’ve seen with our iPhone app since its launch 3 months ago, $1 million in sales is pretty substantial for an iPhone app.”
The app is currently free and offers a great interface with drag and drop operations. While the news is great, this doesn’t mean that the app actually brought $1 million worth extra business, but Pizaa Hut customers have used the app to place orders worth a million, which is cool. not only is it not necessarily generating EXTRA business, iPhone customers get a 20% discount that they might not otherwise get. Perhaps Pizza Hut is actually losing money?!
