After Jailbreaking your device with blackra1n you might’ve  noticed that YouTube app is throwing a message saying ‘Cannot connect to YouTube and also you will notice issues with Push.
These issues are caused by hackactivation. Well you don’t need worry, :)   there is a fix for it. Just follow these steps:

  • Launch cydia, Select Manage.
  • Now tap the Edit button.
  • Now you will see the Add button, tap on it.
  • Now you will be prompted for the url address.

  • Just type cydia.iphoneil.net/ and tap on Add Source button and let it load.
  • Once it is added tap on Done button.

  • Now search for PushFix and install it.

PushFix Reboot

  • Once installed, it will prompt for reboot.
  • Once your device is rebooted, Go Settings and enable WIFI again, because PushFix resets the WIFI connection.
  • After enabling WIFI, again reboot your device.
  • Thats it you are done, now launch YouTube, it will load videos this time without any issues.

“Push Fix” doesn’t show up even after iphoneil.net is successfully added to sources, and other applications from iPhoneil.net show up successfully. “Push Fix” doesn’t appear to be in their repository.

ps. I have 2g iPhone, firmware version 3.1.2, successfully jailbroken with Blackra1n RC3 (Nov 3 release), successfully unlocked and working on TMobile with BootNeuter (downloaded via Cydia over WIFI after the jailbreak). This is TMobile USA.

However, after adding this source (http://cydia.iphoneil.net) to Cydia, “Push Fix” doesn’t become available, even though several new applications do become available from this source.

Try reinstalling the pushfix, and also reinstall all the apps with Push Notification.

For your info, both cydia.iphoneil.net and apt.macosmovil.com aren’t working anymore :/

But i found this repository which still hosts “Push Fix”, just add
http://www.sinfuliphonerepo.com/ to your sources and install “Push Fix” from that repo.

Both youtube and Location services worked after install and reboot.

    thanks

Try installing “Push Notification Fix” by fishbone.ge via Cydia. Add the source and then search for the file in the usual way. Reboot and you should be able to work Youtube at least, not sure about push…
I’m having problems with push notifications still. I don’t get notifications from most apps that support push, once in awhile I get random push msgs from Facebook 3.1…msgs from people that I don’t know nor in my list! Anyone knows proper fix for push?

    @ DaVampy
Even I get random push msgs from facebook, i think they’re spam. I mostly receive them when I’m using cydia.

@ all ppl in this forum
Also last time i checked the internet about push notification, I read that for push to work, you’ll have to have Edge enabled and working. Push doesn’t work on wifi so that might be the case why push isn’t working for most people. But……
There’s a fix for this as well! (jailbreaking rules 8)

The fishbone idea seemed sketchy when I started to do it, but I had the same problem and just fixed push notifications and youtube through the sinfuliphone.com one…works great!

    Thanks!

@TrAvis What do you mean no longer jailbroken? Do you have a 3rd gen ipod touch that needs to be booted with blackra1n (re-jailbreak it) everytime you switch it of? Cause if it is no longer jailbroken, youtube is supposed to work fine. This youtube fix is needed on jailbroken iphones mate.

    cheers

    @TrAvis
Do you still have “Cydia” application installed? if it is installed your iphone is still jailbroken. To solve the youtube problem for a jailbroken ipod touches you need to do the following steps:

Open cydia, click manage, click sources, on top right of the screen click ‘edit’ and then click ‘add’ on top left of screen, then enter http://www.sinfuliphonerepo.com/
Then search for “Push Fix” and install it.

sinfuliphonerepo.com simply works, though it disabled WIFI when it used to work fine ! Man… The only reason I jailbroke my iphone was beacause I needed to unlock it, but it became so messy after that that I wish I didn’t ! Anyways, all in place now ! :)

I have a jailbroken 2g os 3.1.2 and have been struggling with this issue for days.  apt.macosmovil.com works! turn off push notifications, go to cydia and add apt.macosmovil.com install push fix and turn back on push notifications.

@George it cud be the repo is down. U can add http://www.sinfuliphonerepo.com/ then search Push Fix

  29. Darren Fava
    9 February, 2010, 3:34

    @george
It will say a couple of times that a particular host is unreachable, but not necessarily the sinfuliphonerepo one. Go to sections in cydia and check for Sinfuliphonerepo header. Then install pushfix.
Hope it works for you mate
