Carphone Warehouse has revised its profit estimates for this fiscal year thanks to the rise in demand of touchscreen handsets. Mobile market is growing faster than the computer for some time now and the effect is surely showing with telecom players scoring high.
Carphone’s profit before tax for first fiscal half year has jumped from £65 million to £103 million. And major credit for this goes to the iPhone, Blackberry and the Nokia Nseries. Carphone Warehouse has also credited LG Chocolate and some Sony Ericsson models for the success, but clearly being one of the only 2 stores officially allowed to sell the iPhone helps Carphone Warehouse tremendously.
