Apple’s netbook / iTablet would be named ‘TabletMac’?

Its been long months and years of rumors claiming a netbook or tablet from Cupertino. While I have dismissed the tablet rumors before as a hype and decided long ago that I would not write about it until something official turns up, this is a interesting bit of news here. Apple has registered the trademark for the term ‘TabletMac’. Their application was filed in November 2008, but the actual transfer of the trademark has happened only now.

http://iphonehelp.in/content/uploads/2009/11/tablet-huh-300x199.jpgThough this doesn’t necessarily point to a Tablet launch or confirm the name of a tablet product from Apple (they might just be securing names similar to its Mac lineup) but then its certainly an official bit with ‘tablet + Apple’ seen together on a legal filing :) . The name ‘TabletMac’ previously was used by Axiotron for the Mac’s that they mod to convert them into tablets. However they now refer to their offerings as ‘Modbook’ and Apple has secured the name ‘ TabletMac’.

Personally I hate the name Tablet Mac and I am more than sure that this is just to secure a term related to its product line. For the actual tablet from Apple, guess we have to wait.

Btw: Axiotron still owns the domain Tabletmac.com :) | You can discuss the Apple Tablet on our forums.

Apple does not “give the people what the want” … and have rarely given the people what they DON’T want. It’s more likely that they will give the people what they had no idea that they wanted all along! Apple’s next product, as usual, will be an innovative breakthrough. To quote SJ – “Why join the Navy when you can be a pirate?” I don’t want a giant iPhone, and I wouldn’t pay more than the $200-$300 pricepoint for full the featured netbooks currently available. I’d much rather see the next iMac be a full-screen touch model – a better place for them to spend their money, and a more likely place that I’d spend mine.

i am long waiting iTable product that has rumor for coming 2010.
Mobil computing is Computer has real time communication capability with full software functions.
In this case, Giant iPhone is suitable, not TabetMac.
I think, Apple use this device with iPhone OS, not Mac OS X.
This means that iTune App can use on iTablet.
This is very powerful movements.
How do you think.
