Buzz: Googles' social networking website under fire

Gmail starting their own twitter like app since the last week is already feeling the heat of the peoples expectation and is constantly being scrutinized by the users. Buzz is already reeling under their immense expectations being a google application. For a start, the Gmail team had users auto followed other users (supposedly to help them get started) and made the same info public which seemingly their users did not like very much. As a result, it was forced to make some changes within two days of its launch to provide users with an option to hide the info on who they are following. But it seems now that users are complaining that they are finding it hard to find these options. So on the 13th Google has made a few more changes rectify the situation further.

Following are the new settings option:

  1. Buzz will not automatically follow people until you have yourself reviewed and clicked “Follow selected people and start using Buzz”
  2. Picasa Web Albums and Google Reader will no longer be automatically connected to buzz.
  3. There will be a Buzz tab in your Gmail settings allowing you to hide it or disable it completely.

Google on its blogpost has stated that they will be playing with the look of buzz and its setting in the days to come to match it best with the users expectations and preferences. This is what was said on the Google Blogpost.
