iPad production slowed or analyst guessing?

Analysts predicting Apple sales and product line and going horribly wrong is a common sight these days. And as it seems, its not just some unknown accessory makers looking for publicity with Apple predictions, its analysts guessing poor sales / performance aswell. The latest as we hear is from Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek, who says that Apple iPad sales would feature limited stock ‘as a manufacturing bottleneck has impacted production’.This would bring down the 1 million units that were prepared for launch day to just 300,000. The iPad launch (scheduled to hit US in March ending) can be delayed by a month due to this he says. Given the no of competitors coming up with tablets, this sure would impact sales to a large extent. The only reason I could have expected iPad to do a poor performance would have been no great content tie-ups, but this production issue seems to come out of the universe to hit the iPad hype. The total iPad sales predicted by Misek is 1.2 million for 2010. I somehow feel that the international potential of the tablet is being undermined here! An unlocked $500 – Apple product it is…

“We believe the only material impact from the iPad delay could come in the form of frustrated consumers and some modest loss of lustre for the company’s product launch,”
