iPad ready websites, Microsoft Office and iPhone games on iPad

The pre launch hype and buzz for the Apple iPad is on and we are hearing more about the Apple tablet than ever before. While some lucky media outlets have managed to get their hands on the iPad already (with Apple’s blessing ofcourse) others are still waiting for 3rd April show up. Its clear that Apple is pushing the marketing just a few days away from the launch to get maximum traction. The official list of iPad compatible websites is now out. These sites use HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript over Adobe Flash. The list includes the NT Times, Retuters, CNN and several other high profile names (see the full list on Apple site).

With all the buzz and hungama revolving around the Apple iPad, this question certainly comes up – will Microsoft make an MS Office app for the iPad? Well the answer is sadly NO (while they might still be considering it)! Microsoft Office 2010 is coming in May and an online version of the same might work with the iPad IMO. However for now Google docs and several App Store apps would come handy. Given the significance of Ms Office to Microsoft’s bottom-line, it would be interesting to see how well iPad sells and what Microsoft does about it.

While Microsoft clearly isn’t buying the iPad hype yet, several game developers have outed their iPhone apps scaled up for the iPad resolution. Given the extra horse power and screen size of the i-Pad, the game developers can actually deliver a much better gaming experience. And since quality comes at a price, the games so far announced for the iPad cost more than the iPhone. Here is a comparasion of iPhone Game price vs iPad price by G4tv:
