So far we knew that iPad 3G is only meant for browsing with Cellular network and we never expected to make calls or send SMSes from it. But Devteam’s MuscleNerd proved us wrong. He uploaded a video on youtube where he sent SMS fom iPad 3G to iPhone.
Though he did this with terminal from iPad, no GUI has been built so far. All we need a GUI SMS app for iPad 3G and we would like see it on cydia Store 😛 and who knows we might well be making calls from the iPad soon!
He cut the T-mobile SIM to fit into iPad to achieve this,since AT&T’s SIM doesn’t allow this.
We are sure a lot of people would like to have a basic network service like SMS on the iPad 3G, given it runs on a cellular network. However Apple hasn’t allowed it. How long before cydia gets a hack? For now, here is the video demo:
