As mentioned last week by Apple that it would give free bumpers/cases to all iPhone 4 owners affected by the antenna reception problems, today it launched out the program inform of an iPhone App. There is a long waiting period though as shipping would start only in 3-5 weeks after placing the order. Also Apple is not going to give you flashy cases and the Apple bumpers are available only in Black.
Here we mention in brief the steps you need to follow to place your order for bumper/cases. Be aware this will only work if you have a iPhone 4 and you have purchased it before Sep 30, 2010.
Step 1: Goto App Store on your iPhone 4 and search for “iphone 4 case”
Step 2: Select the iPhone 4 case Program and install onto your iPhone 4
Step 3: Launch the App and click Get Started. Next sign in with your iTunes id.
Step 4: Now from the list of cases select the one you want. You can see the bumper/case description and few images before selecting. We selected the Apple bumper Black.
Step 6: The App retrieves information from your itunes account. Your can change this if you wish and click on Place Order. Thats it!! Now wait patiently for 3-5 weeks to your free case/bumper 😛
