Now this is an interesting situation in iPhone / iOS jailbreaking. There are two tools that have come out during the same times and we are left confused on what to use. I decided to get into the mess and figure out what exactly is working for people and here is a short comparison of Greenpois0n and Limera1n.
Incidentally Geohot delayed Greenpois0n release by giving out Limera1n in advance. This made greenpoison by chronic-devteam change the exploit used and go along with the same exploit that geohot exploited. So basically both these tools have the same magic running behind the scenes. And we know that chronic-devteam is holding back a chronic-devteam exploit for the next release of iOS.
Limera1n:
- For both Windows and Mac OS
- Requires you to backup SHSH for iPhone 4 running OS 4.1
Greenpois0n:
- Windows and Linux only
- Requires you to backup SHSH for iPhone 4 running OS 4.1
- Update: greenpoison for Mac is out
So your choice pretty much is dependent on the OS, but the twitter poll that we took tells us that Limera1n is more in demand!
