Apple working with Sharp, not Toshiba for LCD plant?

It seems that the earlier rumor of Toshiba and Apple jointly working on a LCD plant worth more than a billion dollars was shot down and here comes another rumor. After selling off its TV business, Sharp seems to be scaling down its LCD plant built in 2004 to now make small and mid size displays. The rumor again states that Apple would be pouring in a good part of the $1.1b on this plant to produce high resolution Retina displays.

The construction would begin in 2011 and production starts 2012, while thats a little off track the Toshiba rumor which suggested that production would begin in 2011 itself, who knows, Apple might be working with both Sharp and Toshiba to ensure good supply of LCD’s for its iPod touch, iPhones and the iPad!
