Sony today introduced a new portable gaming console which Sony calls the “Next Generation Portable”. introduced with a new name, the device is no doubt the next generation PSP and it clearly sports the Playstation branding.
The “Next Generation Portable” also introduces a new OS which looks quite similar to iOS. The dual analog control sticks are a unique introduction in the device. It is also compatible with Playstation 3 and supports location based and social gaming.
The new features include touch compatibly on both front and rear of the device, two cameras, motion sensing, WiFi and 3G connectivity. Sony claims that the device would be powered by “most advanced” processor available. Sony’s next generation portable would be available by the end of 2011.
