Apple Purchased iCloud Domain, Renamed it – 'CloudMe'

According to the recent reports of GigaOm, Apple has purchased iCloud domain from Xcerion for $4.5 million. This rumor points out towards the iOS 5.0 release at WWDC in June which would features the new cloud services from the company. iCloud service was previously owned by Linkoping, a sweden based service company – Xcerion. Just after the purchase, the service has been renamed to CloudMe which resembles with MobileMe, a popular ‘Find iPhone’ service.


Various sources claimed that Apple has completed the technical side of its cloud locker and finalizing the license agreements before launching the service. iCloud.com is the appropriate domain for Apple to launch the service on.
