iFaith Allows You To Save SHSH Blobs Of Your Current Firmware [Windows]

How many times does this happen that you forget to save the SHSH Blobs of the current firmware till Apple release the next ? – Not Anymore. iH8sn0w has released the much awaited tool known as ‘iFaith’ which was in development from a long time. It allows you to save the SHSH Blobs of your current firmware even if Apple is not signing it. In general, Apple doesn’t allow you to downgrade you device to older firmware once new is available for download. The saga started from the iPhone 3G S when certain errors occurred while restoring the device to previous versions.

To save the SHSH Blobs of the current and the future firmwares, you always have the option of TinyUmbrella which saves the SHSH blobs to Saurik’s server. Thereby, bypassing all the errors that occurs while restoring the device. Suppose, if you have an iDevice on iOS 4.0 and Apple has stopped signing the firmware then this is where the iFaith come into action. You can still save the SHSH Blobs of iOS 4.0 using this tool. It is important to note that the it only works for the device that are susceptible to limera1n JailBreak which means that iPad 2 is not supported yet.

iPad 3G and iPod touch 2g are also not compatible because there is no need for them. Their latest firmware will always remain JailBreakable. Here is the brief discussion of what actually iFaith does :
1) It dumps the SHSH Blobs
2) It builds the custom firmwares based on those dumped SHSH blobs.
3) Send dumped SHSH Blobs to remote servers for backup.
As of now, iFaith is available only for windows. The Mac version will be available in few weeks. Download iFaith form here. If you have any questions, let us know in the comment section.
Note: It is not necessary that the device should be JailBroken, it should be on the same firmware of the blobs you want to dump.
