A5 Chip Causing Heating Issues in iPhone 5, Launch Pushed Forward From The Usual Schedule ?

Some reports from the chinese sites have claimed that the iPhone 5 could have been delayed due to the heating issues. These heating issues are caused on the same A5 chip implemented in the iPad 2. Apple must have tried using it in the next generation iPhone which led to some serious heating problems. Considering this, the iPhone 5 may see a dealy in the launch from the usual schedule. According to these chinese site, Apple plans to release an iPhone 5 which is supposed to be a revamp in the design will not be launched later this fall. Instead, we would be able to see an iPhone 4s, that is, a minor upgrade on the top of the original iPhone 4.

Earlier, some reports suggested that Apple is internally testing the A5 chip into an iPhone 4 to avoid leaks. If Apple releases an iPhone 4S then it would be a minor upgrade without revamp in the design such as A5 processor, dual LED flash etc. Something similar to what Apple did with the iPhone 3G. Whereas, iPhone 5 would be a revamp in the design including the upgraded hardware. Others suggests that there is a possibility of an iPad HD along with the launch of next generation iPhone targeting the ‘Pro’ market. However, there is no confirmation on any of it yet.

All we can do is to wait and watch.
