Recently, a 3G Macbook Pro prototype has been appeared on ebay for sell as reported by Macrumors. The Macbook was bought from from Craiglist ‘for parts’ but the buyer was able to repair it to sell further. According to the listing, the prototype was meant for testing purpose and never qualified enough to reach Apple Store. The parts of the machines shows that the 3G Macbook pro prototype was built way back in 2007, the era when we would have never imagined of it. It is a 15 inch model with an antenna to capture the 3G signals comprised of a sim card slot on one side of the machine.Â

With this 3G Macbook pro, we can conclude that Apple did consider manufacturing 3G models for people to remain connected anywhere and anytime. But due to the complexities of a tie up with carrier, the company dropped down its plans. The buyer has shown the parts of prototype in pictures which contains a motherboard of a red color. Usually, these things are instances of a prototype only which had previously found in Macbook pro prototype and iPod touch. Also, note that Antenna is not integrated into the machine similar to iPad or iPhone. It was originally made to be extendable for the better reception.

We are still not sure what made Apple to stop the further production. What do you think?
