Why No One Will Truly Replace Steve Jobs As Apple CEO ?

Yes, we all heard this shocking news yesterday. Steve Jobs has submitted a resignation letter to resign from the post of a CEO and was retained as the Chairman, Board of Directors at Apple. These actions became effective immediately when Apple COO Time Cook took over the CEO position from Steve yesterday. One question which instantly hit my mind after hearing this news; is there anyone who could actually replace Steve Jobs as Apple CEO? Undoubtedly, Tim Cook was responsible for all the strategic decision for Apple since 2004 and whenever Steve took a leave due to health issues. This is also true that all these people at Apple must have learned a lot from Steve which would help them to grow the company in future. It had to happen one day but it is time to take look back at the history of Apple.

Apple was a company which had its origins in a backyard with two people at its helm, Steve Jobs and Steve Woznaik. Steve was not just a CEO. He is the person responsible for Apple to be the most valuable and most admirable company right now. Apple has risen from its ashes when it was about to experience death. It was Steve who guided Apple to realize its values and for what they are known in the market. Coming to the question once again, if Tim Cook would be the first ever CEO of Apple, if Steve would have never come back, would the company have been the same? I don’t think that answer would be ‘yes’ in most of the cases.

Steve would remain the most valuable CEO of Apple. There is no one who could replace him even if his replacement possesses similar strategic techniques. It’s like every son who always dream to have same attributes as his parent. But it always turn out to be really difficult to fill in. For me, this is a historic day.

Despite the fact that Steve is always there for Apple if company needs him at any point of time, I believe this position can never be fulfilled, doesn’t matter how experienced a person comes and takes over it. Though, no other day could be better than this. Apple is at its peak and Steve has played its role very well. I will call it end of an era.
