New York Times: iPhone 5 Will Be 'Fairly Different' From iPhone 4, Weeks Away From Announcement

An Apple engineer has informed New York Times that iPhone 5 would be fairly different from the iPhone 4 and weeks away from announcement. Identity of this Apple engineer couldn’t be revealed because they are not allowed to reveal any information publicly. They also believe that the yesterday’s leak of Case-Mate iPhone 5 cases over the web were credible and the design would be similar to them. However, Case-Mate, a popular manufacturer of cases pulled off the information after sometime with a notice – “we will have your cases when you have your new iPhone”. This could an attempt from the company to urge excitements among customers.

Further, they have been told that the long rumored 8 megapixel camera in iPhone 5 would soon turn up into reality. In addition to it, we would be using A5 processor (dual core) in next generation iPhone. Some new hiring in recent times shows that Apple could come up with Near Field Communication (NFC). But this feature may not arrive this year. Through the leaked cases, one can confirm that the iPhone 5 will have tapered edges at the back, similar to iPad 2. Also, some earlier rumors suggested an elongated button and a larger display.

All we can is to wait for the invite which must be coming shortly where Apple will unveil iPhone 5.
