Yes, you heard it right. iOS 5 GM version doesn’t require you to have a paid developer account. If you are not a developer, you can install iOS 5 Gold Master version without experiencing any errors. GM versions are most of the times similar to the final versions. It happens rarely that a GM firmware is different when compared to the final release. If you are one of those people who can’t wait for iOS 5 final to hit iTunes on October 12, just find out the appropriate source to download iOS 5 GM and install it in your device.

To install iOS 5 GM in your device, you need to be on iTunes 5 beta 9. Otherwise, the restore process will fail. Also, please note that you should have a factory unlocked iPhone. If you try to install on an unlocked iPhone, you may lose the unlock forever. Hence, it is advised you to read everything carefully before performing the installation process. In iTunes follow the simple process of shift+restore in Windows and option+restore in Mac. Rest of the things will be taken care of by the iTunes 5 beta 9.

Also, don’t forget that iOS 5 GM can be Jailbroken. Though, the JailBreak is tethered. If you want to have any link of the iOS 5 GM firmware, let’s know in the comment section. We will try our best to provide you with the link.
