Apple has recently pushed ‘Find My Friends’ application for iOS 5 which they showcased in October 4 event at San Francisco. This application is only supported for the devices which have iOS 5 installed on them. It means that you would not be able to download the application if you have iOS 4 installed on your device. Well, Apple has released the application prior to the release of iOS 5 which was quite unexpected from the company.
Find my friends lets you find your friends who are using the application. It will not restrict your privacy because the user will be notified whether you want to view your location to your friends or not. Once you have confirmed, your location will be shared with the other person. In addition to it, it also has parental controls due to which you can view current location of your children anytime.
If you are on a developer build or iOS 5 GM, you can download ‘Find My Friends’ application from here. Only applies to App Store in United States right now. iOS 5 will hit iTunes on October 12, that is, today.
