Well, some scammers over internet are claiming that an untethered JailBreak for iOS 5 is possible if you pay certain $$ to them. Beware of the fact that no iOS 5 untethered JailBreak is available till now from the official sources. And if anyone try to sell you a tool which could do the task, it would be nothing more than a fake. Please don’t get trapped in these kind of deals.
There was a rumor few days ago that a tool called ‘fastra1n’ has been released by FastUnlockiPhone.com which could perform the untethered JailBreak. But we have words from the MuscleNerd itself that it is purely a work of scammers. In future, if any untethered JailBreak for iOS 5 arrives, it would remain free for all over the world. However, you can always donate for the hard work done by these people in the hacking community. We will keep you updated if any untethered JailBreak from any of the devs hits for the iDevices users.
Earlier, Chronic DevTeam has confirmed that iOS 5 untethered JailBreak is possible through five different userland exploits at MyGreatFest 2011. So, there is no reason we should assume that it would never arrive in coming days/months. All you need to do is to wait.
