After many releases of Apple TV untethered JailBreak, hackers have finally found a way to run iOS applications on it. Previously, people had no reason to JailBreak their Apple TV running on a specific firmware, but i think this hack would led them to do so. It is also assumed that Apple would make applications specifically for the Apple TV. However, the day doesn’t seem to arrive pretty soon.[youtube]htC9sHr34K0[/youtube]
This has been made possible with the help of Mobile LaunchPad from @chpwn and Mobile X Window manager from @TheMudkip. Chpwn is known for his amazing tweaks such as the recent release of Official port of Siri called ‘Spire’ and then Zephyr which lets you enable awesome multitasking gestures on iPhone. Though, the report came from Steve Troughton-Smith who had some contribution in porting Siri to devices other than iPhone 4S.
According to Smith, once the hack is completely developed and ready for the public release, you would be able to run any iOS application on your Apple TV if it’s JailBroken. Do you own an Apple TV too? Le’s know what do you think about it in the comment section.
