Starting from Bada OS, Samsung’s ChatOn has finally made its way to Apple’s App Store. The company has approved the cross platform messaging service which is now available on all the major platforms and expected to hit others soon. ChatOn is similar to WhatsApp, with an advantage of Bada users to connect to other people on iOS and Android for free of cost.
It is a assumed that the application could compete with WhatsApp application which is available on Symbian, iOS, Android, Blackberry and WP7. On the other hand, Samsung ChatOn is present for iOS, Android and Bada OS. The Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 applications are still in development. Though, we are unsure that it would be able to compete with the already built ecosystem of WhatsApp.
To make it a successful application, Samsung needs to do something dynamic which should let people consider ChatOn over other alternatives. Anyways, it also depends on the personal preferences of different people and the circle of their friends. If the majority is on BadaOS, they might consider ChatON as one of the convenient option.
