Earlier, we have heard some reports that iPad 3 would be 1mm thicker than than iPad 2 at certain places. But the recent report from CultOfMac contradicts and says that iPad 3 would be thinner than the iPad 2. According to them, their source has been the case manufacturers which claims that Apple has provided them with information of their upcoming device.
If we simply consider the history of Apple products, we would realize that Apple has always been indulged in making the products faster and better. In this betterment, the thickness of the device is also included. It means that every successor of upcoming Apple product is always thinner than its predecessor if there’s any revamp in design. Undoubtedly, iPad 2 is even thinner than iPhone 4S which makes it the thinnest device in Apple’s territory.
As per the tradition, it makes sense that Apple would come up with even more thinner iPad. Though, in order to embed the retina display into the Apple tablet, a dual bar system would require which might not let them do so.
