iPad 3 Could Be 1.5mm Thicker Than iPad 2, Suggests Back Enclosure

Well, you might know what’s coming in next generation iPad, but can you say anything on its design? MIC gadget, a japanese sites has posted photos of the alleged back enclosure of the iPad 3 which is supposedly 1-1.5mm thicker than the iPad 2. This thickness at the edges could be due to embed the retina display which has altogether different way for the connections.In addition to it, some changes in the camera have been noted. The camera is way larger and appear to have more megapixels than the current generation iPad. However, it’s highly unlikely that Apple would take a bump of 8megapixels instantly from 0.8 megapixels. Though the probability of 3-5 megapixels is certainly more. Despite of an increase in thickness, it is reported to fit in cases of iPad 2. So case manufactures need not to worry for it.

All the edges are tapered in shape except the bezel which is narrower. Also, the volume keys are present on one of the side. You can checkout the photos above to tell you the complete story. Both back enclosure of iPad 2 and iPad 3 have been compared one on one. In terms of internals, iPad 3 is expected to have a retina display, LTE and quad core processor.
