iOS 5.1.1 Untethered JailBreak Has Been Announced For All iDevices

The much awaited untethered JailBreak for iOS 5.1.1 is here! As expected, it has been announced in a hacking conference where all the hackers were gathered at the same place to discuss about their contributions in hacking community and what difficulties they had faced to released several other JailBreaks in the past. At the moment, greenpois0n.com is down and it seems that it would be updated with the download of Absinthe 2.0.

Absinthe is the tool from Chronic DevTeam which let you untether JailBreak iDevices on iOS 5.0.1. However, the exploit was killed after a release of software update from Apple. Fortunately, the signing window is still open, so you should save SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.1.1 as soon as it’s open. Once closed, you won’t be able to revert on the same firmware. The devices which are supported for iOS 5.1.1 untethered JailBreak are iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 1, iPad 2 and iPad 3 (new iPad).

Absinthe 2.0 is really handy. All you need to do is to connect your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to PC/Mac, click on JailBreak and everything would happen automatically. Just notice the greenpois0n icon on the home screen once the process is finished. Tapping on it will install the Cydia on your device. PS: Don’t forget to backup your iDevices before performing the JailBreak.

UpdateGreenpois0n is up with links to download Absinthe 2.0.

Tip – You could also enhance the timing required to JailBreak your device by erasing all Content and Settings from General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. It’s not mandatory, but completely your wish to do this step or not.

Tip 1: Please don’t Erase All Content and Settings if you have been already on a tethered JailBreak. (Thanks @MuscleNerd for it)

Happy JailBreaking! Download Absinthe 2.0 from here – Mac, Windows, Linux
