Apple Awarded Patent For A New Type Of Bluetooth Headset

Appleinsider has published a new report of Apple filing a patent for a new type of bluetooth headset. The new headset takes help of the phone to charge itself using a cable which doubles up as a wired headset when connected to the handset.

Major problems with bluetooth headsets are its size and/or battery life. If a bluetooth headset is too compact then there will be a compromise over battery life and if a bluetooth headset stuff in a bigger battery the battery life decreases. Knowing about Apple and its passion for design it is unlikely that Apple is going to make its headset any bulky.
Apple filed a recent patent to solve this problem which enables the bluetooth headset to be connected to the phone which charges the headset. Apart from that Apple uses an acoustic tunnel which will enable the cable to double up as a wired headset. The cable includes a microphone as well. This will indeed be quite useful to manage compact bluetooth headset which typically have an unusually short battery life.
Apple filed many such patents related to bluetooth earlier which never came to limelight. This might well be one of them but we hope to see Apple selling this new kind of bluetooth headset apart from it’s standard offerings right now.
