Past Two Months Constitutes 22,780,029 JailBroken Devices, Says Cydia Creator

It’s now a known fact that we still don’t have properly functional iOS 6.x.x JailBreak since the iOS version has gone public. And it’s not been few days, but months when Apple released iOS 6.0 for all over the world to download. Well, people who have been extremely optimistic about the JailBreak scene updated in the hope that a JailBreak might arrive in couple of weeks. However, they were being disappointed due to the inability to revert to previous iOS version and rejoice their JailBreaking days.

On the other hand, those who knew or had a bit of doubt that it might take longer time for iOS 6.0 JailBreak to come out, they remained on the old version of iOS and still use the same. Nevertheless, a tethered JailBreak is possible on A4 based devices such as iPhone 4, iPod touch 4th generation etc. According to a the Cydia creator, JayFreeman Saurik, Cydia is now installed on 22,780,029 Apple devices which is a data from the past two months.

Obviously, the JailBreak scene has seen a curve heading downwards due to the inability for people to JailBreak on the latest firmware for iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad mini etc. In the chart above, the iPhone 4 is now JailBroken on 34.9% of the devices which is the largest percentage of devices if compared with iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S and so on. Clearly, iPod 1G has the least percentage, probably due to decrease in adoption followed by iPod touch 3rd gen, iPhone 2G etc.

Undoubtedly, there would be a JailBreak soon if the current progress of the iOS hacking community is to be considered. Two iOS hackers have found two more vulnerabilities which might be responsible for an untethered JailBreak on iOS 6.1. The only reason for them not to be make it public at the moment is because they don’t want to waste an exploit when another version is due for release soon. Hopefully, the JailBreak would hype the percentage of Cydia users once again.
Are you still JailBroken on any non-A4 device? Let’s know which one it’s in comment section below.
