iOS 6.1 Untethered JailBreak Status: Private Beta Testing For Windows & Mac OS X Apps is Underway, Linux Version is Still in Works

Previously, we told you that the team behind the upcoming tool evasi0n which would allow you to JailBreak iOS 6.1 on iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and all other supported devices has completed 68% of the work. Fortunately, they have now progressed further and the iOS 6.1 untethered JailBreak status is 75%. The Mac OS X and Windows applications which were being completed are now in private beta testing. Whereas, the Linux version is still in the works.

Like we predicted earlier, we strongly feels that evad3rs would be able to finish and release JailBreak on Sunday. However, it doesn’t mean they couldn’t do it before. There are equal chances that the JailBreak could be released on February 2 as well. But everything including the date on devices on the website and MuscleNerd tweet couple of days ago hints towards an imminent Sunday release. Of course, there’s no reason for them to hold it once the status is 100% reached.

All versions of iOS 6.0 would be supported. So even if you are on an older firmware version, you could use the tool. Needless to say, it’s advised to do a clean restore in iTunes and update your iOS device to iOS 6.1. In the meantime, you could also save SHSH Blobs which would help you to restore on the same version even if Apple releases another firmware in future. Moreover, the next step is extended beta testing. Stay tuned!
