Twitter To Kill TweetDeck For iOS and Android

In May 2012 Twitter Announced that it bought over the famous twitter client TweetDeck for a whooping $40 million. Things were quite fine ever since but yesterday twitter sent out disheartening news that TweetDeck will be killed by May 2013 on iOS, Android and Adobe AIR platforms and their support for Facebook integration on TweetDeck. For now Twitter wants to maintain TweetDeck only on web and dedicated desktop versions of Mac and Windows. But due to decreased support there is a high chance that even the remaining versions will be phased out soon.

The official statement from twitter says that “To continue to offer a great product that addresses your unique needs, we’re going to focus our development efforts on our modern, web-based versions of TweetDeck. We think these web and Chrome apps provide the best TweetDeck experience yet, and that they are the apps in which you’ll want to see us add new capabilities first, followed closely by our Mac and PC apps”. Twitter’s new policies are casting trouble for many third party apps, Falcon Pro one of Android’s best third party twitter client also released a note recently that due to Twitter’s policies they are not able to afford to accommodate more users in their app.
