Android Beats Apple With More Number Of Malware Threats

Apple is beaten by Android yet again, but this time it’s the number of Malware threats we are talking about! Apple’s Senior Vice President Phil Schiller is known to mock rival platforms on social networks and this time he took a mock at Android for being the most insecure mobile OS out there. As per F-Secure’s latest report Android has a staggering 76% of malware threats reported against less than 1% of iOS. The total number of reported new families of malware threats on Android is at 96 which has almost doubled up from previous year.
Android malware threat

The growth of Android malware can mainly be attributed to growth of the platform, Android OS currently leads the pack of smartphones with almost 69% of the smartphones currently running Android OS. The same can be detected in Symbian as well in a reverse way, Symbian is slowly becoming obsolete in the smartphone ecosystem and the number of Malware attacks also reflect the same. Apple has been the most secure OS according to the report by F-Secure with least number of attacks being reported even after a market share of almost 22%!
