Mailbox Email Client Fills 1 Million Reservations And Updates Features

After the much hyped launch of Mailbox email client for iPhone people started making their reservations to get queued up and try out the app on their iPhones. Mailbox put up a blogpost explaining the wait list process and the need for a wait list saying that an email client would need immense hardware support and that Mailbox cannot afford to crash and disappoint their customers. To handle this issue Mailbox’s servers have been designed in a way to scale themselves up and add new users to the system. Recent Mailbox announced that they could successfully give access to 1 million users using their app right now.

Mailbox currently supports addition of Gmail accounts only but users are still quite crazy about the amazing gestures and feature it provides. All the hype Mailbox built was indeed quite successful for them when Dropbox took over Mailbox for a whooping $100 million. Apart from catering to a million users in just under 6 weeks of launch Mailbox provided an update it its app adding “Shake-to-undo” feature where users can just shake their device to undo the action.
